I have truly had a blessed year. A hard year, but a blessed one. I've been able to see so many people reach out to me and show me love and compassion, and I've been on the receiving end of so many gifts, cards, kind words and love. It's hard to stay sad for to long when you have all of that. Recently I was given the chance take control of my health, and start fresh. I went to Mexico and I had gastric sleeve surgery.
I was ready for a change in my life and my health. Surgery went well. No complications. It has been an interesting transition, and a big change in how I eat, but its all worth it.

On the right is an image of potential benefits from bariatric surgery. I did a lot on my own to bring my weight down. I lost 55lbs on my own. This surgery has helped me lose 30 more. I'm already down 85 lbs in the last couple years but here are some of the reasons why I decided to go the route of surgery. Highest Weight (HW): 330 Starting Weight before surgery (SW): 275 Current Weight (CW): 245 (Down 30 lbs) Me at close to my highest weight. 330. |
Leaving on a plane from LAS on my way to Monterrey Mexico for surgery. Just work up after surgery. All is well. A little sore but I'm up and moving and doing good. | Day before surgery, out exploring Mexico with my twin sister. | Its the night before surgery. Nervous, but excited for a change. 6 weeks out from surgery and I'm down nearly 30 lbs. Big changes but I welcome the challenge. |
